ELP - Welcome back my friends
That's the one immediately came to my mind reading thread's title...

what don't you like about it?

Everything.It's just awful crap.

Don't get the mentioning of Still Life.
When it has been released in the summer of '82 we played it to death,it's just been fun listening to it.
Hampton (official) bootleg is another story...

Still Life by.. you know.

NO WAY !!!! its the atmosphere, when they belt out under my thumb and lets spend the night together, its unbelievable, the audience in the recording makes that one tops with me.,

I find it just too rushed, thin in sound and wheezy. Just dreadful album. It's only redeeming song is Going to a Gogo, and THAT'S ordinary!

Yeah, I bought it off a friend for $5. My friend was another huge Stones fan, so that should tell you something right there. I played it once. It's a souvenir of the tour, and that's pretty much all you can say about it.

For me it's always been AC/DC Live. Love the band but those pauses between songs instead of continued crowd noise just killed the album for me. I never listen to it. Probably have only heard it twice - once to make sure the single disc played right and once to do the same on the double disc version.

Not a vote but, I remember reading some mag had a list of their top 10 best and top 10 worst live albums and 'Love You Live' made both lists! I liked it...

No one is a bigger Faces fan than I am, but Coast to Coast: Overtures and Beginners is pretty bad. Almost bad on purpose you might say.

Soundwise and worse in this respect than many boots: Got Live If You Want It! (the LP, the EP is great, though!)

After the thread title says "OT", I´d like to point out that if your live album is "supposed to suck" it helps if your music sucks in general grinning smiley.
So what about Elton John Live albums post 1990?
Depeche Mode live?
Kraftwerk Live? Pur Live (German top candidates for the shitlist)?
Probably even Joe Cocker live albums (post 1990).

Cheers, Fillmore
...and kiss them, if they can´t take a joke!

Got Live If You Want It

If you count crowd noise added to studio tracks as a live album!

The Who-Who's Last
For a band with such a great reputation as a live band, this one sucks. Some uninspired performances filled with songs that appeared live elsewhere in better form. Further, no new songs are on the album, despite the Who playing 4 of them from It's Hard. All in all, not that good.

i agree. it was so bad. i was so excited to buy it and so bummed when i hear it. thanks for bringing back a terrible memory ;-)

I've not seen it myself, but reading apparently the new Who DVD Shea Stadium 1982 is a much better document of the band live on their "last" tour.
