I'm not looking at liner notes. Is MT credited on IGTB?

yes he is.

He is credited on BS as well, but not audible.

they always went out of their way to credit MT.

Out of their way? He played during the recording sessions, deserves to be mentioned. I think Taylor would have traded a wee bit of songwriting credit for all the mentions in the musicians section of the liner notes. winking smiley

Hell yeah! You of all people should know that. His snoring in the corner probably inspired the samba rhythm and he was probably the one who brought the weed to the session. smoking smiley

NO, no, no, there's only one guitar playing the short intro, then the second one joins in (right channel).

Depends on how you perceive / listen to a song: either with a dictatorial or a democratic attitude.

Imo everybody who is audible is part of the songwriting, more or less. Unless you're called Beethoven. Even Zappa was a democrat.

Sure, 'joking' was a part of his brilliant musical game, thanks to the freedom he gave to players like George Duke, Steve Vai, Adrian Belew or even Don Pardo.
Of course Zappa was the boss, did the final editing etc, trying to sell as much as you can, just like Keith and Mick.

But I doubt if Zappa was totally going for the selling, just like the two Stones bosses, especially Jagger.

I'd like to name 3 Mick Taylor songs, but I don't think I've actually heard one as yet. Did he write some originals for any of his solo albums?

"Bobby Brown" was a major hit at the time in your country, I believe.

Officially yes, but actually no.

Did you really never listen to his solo album "Mick Taylor"?

Mick Taylor is the debut studio album by the former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, released in 1979. Though the album was acclaimed by critics, the album's blues-based style was somewhat unfashionable at the time of release, when punk and new wave were becoming more popular.
Track listing

All songs by Mick Taylor except where noted:

"Leather Jacket" - 3:42
"Alabama" (Colin Allen, Mick Taylor) - 3:49
"Slow Blues" - 3:25
"Baby I Want You" - 5:17
"Broken Hands" - 4:00
"Giddy-Up" - 5:18
"S.W.5" - 5:37
"Spanish / A Minor" - 12:12

<<Did you really never listen to his solo album "Mick Taylor"?>>

No, I haven't actually, but thanks for the recommendation.

By the way, my initial post was only tongue in cheek. Time Waits For No One is my favorite, and it wouldn't have been the same without MT on board, which is probably why they've never attempted it live since, as it would only have been anticlimactic if they had tried. It's just one of those things that can't be recreated, because Taylor really put his stamp on that one, and he truly shines, elevating the track to something it would never have been otherwise. Further, I'd just like to add how much that sudden fade-out version on Sucking In The Seventies really pissed me off.

Here's one of those songs from his solo album in a live version (first time he performed it live). I can recommend it:
