I can see how you can mimmick someones actions and body language and even make yourself look like somebody else. How the hell do you change your voice to sound the same though? That must take some real talent and this kids got tons of that.

His impressions are the foundation of his comedic talent. Watch his audition for SNL. I always know I'm gonna enjoy a Fallon sketch when it involves impressions

Not a big fan of Mr. F but this was amazing - in more senses than one.
Thanks for posting.

As someone who generally comes across as a smarmy, oily-skinned cock-sucker, that was OK.

Jimmy Fallon is great impersonator. His Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen impressions are flawless. As well as Jim.

Outstanding! His sign off from Late Night was equally legendary.

Jimmy Fallon invited Elvis Costello, a well played tune:

that is such a good impression. It seriously gives me new respect for Fallen. He IS Jim Morrison on this clip. And no breaking up with laughter. Playing it straight makes it so much more funny.

I used to hate Jimmy Fallon when he was on SNL. But the stuff he's done when he got his own show has been great. He really has some musical talent and an appreciation for the artists he parodies.

Another great impersonation by Jimmy Fallon (with Jack Black)

BTW: I think Jack Black should try to impersonate Meat Loaf.

I'd tend to agree. Which makes me wonder, when a comedian-variety-show-host does a skit which is musical impersonation and it's a good impersonation and musically good but NOT funny, can it be judged as a success or is it a failure?

Note: I DON'T know that I have an answer to my own question and probably wouldn't disagree with a well articulated answer on either the positive or negative side. I'm merely curious as to other's thoughts on the matter.

Peace,
Mr. DJA

If Jimmy Fallon weren't a talk show host, he could have made a pretty decent living as part of a Doors tribute band. It's rare for a tribute band to have all members spot on in appearance.

However, Doors guitarist Robbie Krieger never played guitar with a plectrum. Plus, the guitar sound is generic rather than distinctive. So, A-.
