Ry can also play mandolin on Love In Vain without (or with!) that other guitar player

If you want Ry for Sister Morphine, why not ask Marianne to join in also?

In an offbeat thought, I kinda like the idea I just had of the Stones doing some old songs, Lady Jane-Ruby Tuesday-Paint It Black-I Am Waiting, etc., and projecting a hologram of Brian Jones onto the stage while they perform them. It'd be a helluva effect taking the band back to its roots while using modern technology.

You actually posted this as a serious suggestion. Amazing. i thought of it also, but as an obvious parody of the idea of Cooder or Faithfull, as a blatantly ridiculous idea that, on its face, would be so cheesy that to even suggest it marks it as an obvious joke. But you were serious? Does the duets album with Tony Bennett come next?

I'm actually a big fan of the music that Bennett sings. I just meant they should do it now, before it is too late and they have to go the hologram route.

Oh my. My comment regarding a hologram of BJ was said with tongue in cheek. I would hope the Stones won't do anything like that. I do think for this tour the Stones will do the s-o-s they've gotten away with for years and think it's still hip to invite younger performers to do a number or two with them. I think it would be much cooler for the Stones to invite some of the remaining old blues players to sit in with at various shows, but that's my thing, not necessarily anyone else's. Just hope that they don't go the Dave Matthews route again. And, btw folks, if you haven't gotten it, get Mister Bennett's album with Lady Gaga. It's pretty good.

Agreed, They will probably roll out the big inflatables or other Stadium size gimmicks, but I hope not. And they've done shows with lots of the old blues cats sitting in, though they've never had Chuck B-Bad Berry join them onstage.
They should revive the 69-75 setlists.

They would probably invite him only to have him play on Midnight Rambler and have Ronnie play his Sister Morphine part.

Not likely. The crowd, save a few die hards would in unison say "Who?"

no chance at all !
95% of the crowd don t even know Ry Cooder..

and 70% of the 95% can't name all the Stones..

but 100% of the crowd know Mick Jagger, including all the venue attendants and the people skulking around outside without a ticket.
