Not sure what it's based on. But since the Clash was the absolute stonecold coolest band to ever walk the planet they have to win every time. The best thing about the Clash was that they always changed their look together. It was a union coming at you. These guys were convinced. On a mission. So I am sort of casting my vote for them because of the coolness factor. U2 has the annoyance factor riding high. real high Mr Bono. But you know these days the Edge is starting to bug me almost more than Boner.
by NP "Nature Boy" by Nick Cave who keeps getting better and better with every cut on the Abattoir Blues.
U2 have delivered so much more. But I prefer playing Sandinista or London Calling to any U2-album on a hot summerday, a rainy autumn-nite or in any weather or season.
On the other hand, Boy & October is seriously underrated albums. The Unforgettable Fire is one of the most habile works by any rock band ever. And Rattle and Hum will also grow on us.
...Why can´t Nick Cave be in the competition? - I´d Say Nick.
are you kidding, the clash isnt even on the same planet as u2 u2 has done much more for much longer, and i dont mean being together longer i mean in terms of being artists
Yes "London Calling" is awesome and it wins. Nevertheless "4th of July" from "Unforgettable Fire" is brill, folks. This lp is their best in my opinion but it doesn't have the appeal of a "London Calling' neither.
While I also "voted" for the Clash, I really could never really put down U2. none of us were putting down the Boner when they came on with the Joshua Tree. It's still one of the great albums ever of Rock.
