Do you really think they could come up with anything other than another Stones by numbers track like Doom and Gloom?

The next stones LP will be the release of Sticky Fingers Deluxe, so that may impact a number of key points in the Ten Point Plan.

Wyman just read your plan. He choked on one of his Sticky Fingers ribs.

that would make you an atypical conservative. An atypical conservative might be someone who has liberal values.

This is a bit circuitous.

How original.

Maybe next you can write an essay titled, "If *I* was advising President Obama, here's what I'd say..."

My stocks portfolio went from $23,000 to $101,000 under Obama.

Mine went from 5.7 millions to 7.3 million. But it really has nothing to do with Obama.

1.ditch don was and any other name brand producers right into the rubbish bin

Far far too late for that. They're comfortable now.

2.hire eddie kramer and glyn johns for engineering/co production

It's 2015, not 1974 or whenever.

3.get mick, keith, bill, mick taylor/ronnie and charlie into abbey road or Olympic studios

Olympic might not work since it's been revamped as is not like it was. Supposedly Universal owns Abbey Road now so... that certainly could be a possibility. But so could my living room. In regard to the Stones, well, you can forget Bill and Taylor and for that matter, Wood.

4.use analog 16 track recording ONLY
no ^&*king computers at all except on the very end for mastering and conversion to the digital world

That is the best idea you've had and would certainly work.

5.cut and master for vinyl first and foremost with all of the digital crap second

Bands such as the Drive-By Truckers master for vinyl (since they strictly record on 16 track 2 inch tape), master for CD and master for... whatever. That's the only way vinyl sounds good, coming from tape.

6.ship in several pounds of the best ganja and all other booze related liquids to the writing cabin in (enter Caribbean or Bahamian island here) and for the main sessions

Nothing wrong with that. And I fixed the location.

7.jam mick and keith into a preproduction room in the middle of the Caribbean or Bahamas for a month-6 weeks with no access to anything but a beach, small tape recorder and some acoustic guitars/pens and pads, weed, food, water, beer

Again, fixed the location and made one tweek and reduced non-relevant things.

8.confine the main recording sessions to 3 months total for 8-10 songs

Should probably aim for 12 with 15 being cut.

9.suggest that they cover a pre war blues track their own way

Nothing wrong with that.

10.get keith to write a few heavy riff oriented tunes with a lot of overdrive [at least 2-3 heavy tracks]

No need to dump more salt in when spice is available. Overdrive or not, how about just having Keith come up with some riffs.

Cam across this group today. This is the kind of sh*t th Stones should be looking at re a new album. Back to basics - straight ahead blues, rock. country. This is music, IMHO, like in the high energy/hungry days of "The Rolling Stones Now".

The Stones doing a Hank Williams song or two would be so cool along with some other country style tunes. I would love to hear Mick/Keith do Funny How Time Slips Away like Elvis or Al Green did or a cover of Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues ala Elvis' version. Reconsider Baby would be a great blues track or Elvis' Like A Baby. There's so many possibilities for something new, different and unexpected from the Stones. We can dream, can't we?

Yeah dmay, enjoyed those boys. I agree the Stone could benefit from the back to basics soulful approach these guys have. Love to see a show with just the two guitars, bass , drums and Mick, with an occassional piano. peace

Cheers man!

Been a very cold winter for Canada, except for Vancouver, where I'm from.

Unbelievably good weather, the bees have been buzzing for weeks.

No snow on the mountains though!

That's because all your cold air has blown down my way here in Boston, where there's been 8.5 feet of snow in the last month.

Including the Stones, apparently.

Yes, in one of the small burbs to the east of the airport. And it was snowing here last Sunday again, wasn't it?

Saw the Stones when they played in town in 2013 [TD Garden]. Wish they were playing there again, but alas it's a stadium tour this time around.

You can get some great Asian dishes in Chinatown. Used to eat at Pho Pasteur on Washington [as I did in 2005 before a Brian Wilson concert up at the Orpheum, when he was doing his Pet Sounds tour with special guest Al Jardine].

The best Asian food though is a well-kept secret in East Boston, the Saigon Hut on (350) Meridian Street. Take the Blue Line train and get out at Maverick, one stop before the Airport stop, and just walk up the road a few blocks and it's on the right, on the corner of Meridian and Lexington streets. Best Vietnamese food ever! Haven't been there in some time, and I think it just goes under the name of Saigon these days, but check out the menu: [boston.menupages.com]

Alas, I don't drive, so I never commute that far south of the city. But if you're going, hope you have a great time and I look forward to reading your account in the concert thread for the show.

It actually doesn't get 'cold' on the west coast. Our weather is more in line with Seattle/Portland. I feel for you guys, it must be getting like, 'enough already'.
