According to UK Breakfast TV report, Mick Jagger is rumoured to be closing the show at Hyde Park. George Michael was also mentioned.

I was told Mick might show up with Joss Stone. Is she supposed to be in London now? Mick is in LA, but sure he might fly out for Live 8 somewhere.

If Bob Geldof really was Jesus christ, surely he could get Keith, Charlie and Ronnie to fly over as well as Mick and put them on last with Paul Mcartney on bass.... ok I'm dreaming, but wouldn't that be something man?!?

Er, if Geldof was Christ... why wouldn't he just wake up Lennon and get the Dirty Mac back together!

having seen both of them close up, I can confirm that Jesus smelt better and had a better beard.

Geldof is much taller, though and wore a cool hat.

If this is confirmed, why is Mick not mentioned on any of the evening news stories about LIVE8?

Re: Jagger on Live 8

because its not confirmed, Debra - he's only rumoured as a 'guest', so its not really a news story

Sticky Fingers Journal just sent me this update:

Look for Mick Jagger in Philadelphia for the Live 8 show just before the grand finale. MTV will be airing Live 8 most of the day and ABC will have a special tonight featuring Mick with one of his pals.

Come to think of it, I have never seen Geldof and Jesus in the same room at once....hmmm, he could be the One.

If Geldof was Christ he wouldn't need live 8 to feed the Africans.......

can anybody tell me why they've printed setlists for everyone in advance ?

what kind of excitement does that bring to the event ?

ridiculous

When they broadcast a show to 80% of the entire world's population and bring in tha many artists and venues, then they nee a schedule. Bob Geldof wanted all as a big secret, but it is not possible in the real world. They have to rehearse. T producers and media have to broadcast. Thousands of people will be working on this broadcst. They did not want t work in complete blind.

PS. Only missing Keith now. Any match for him in Philly?

Unofficial Running Order

The official running order has not been revealed, but the BBC News website has compared lists printed in various UK media and below is an indication of what to expect from 1400 onwards.

the setlists haven't been 'leaked out'. they've been printed in ALL of the newspapers. kind of ruins any excitement if you ask me

imagine the Floyd fans who are seeing their heroes for the first time in 20 odd years. how much more fun would it have been for them not knowing in advance what they were going to hear ?

IMO of course yawning smiley)

For the first hour they have been following the schedule precise within 5 minutes or so, only change so far has been Coldplay after Die Toten Hosen, not before. And Richard Ascroft doing Bittersweet Symphony with Coldplay.

So according to IORR Mick's appearing in London but according to Sticky Fingers he's appearing in Philadelphia...

Re: Jagger on Live 8

The list of the 3 Pink Floyd songs originally had "Breathe", instead of "Money".

The BBC list only included 1 U2 song - "One". they played three.

BBC radio confirmed just as the show was about to start that Mick will perform as a guest towards the end of the London concert

Just spotted Jerry Hall in the audience at the London festival site of Live 8. That might be an indication Jagger will show up in London and not Philadelphia.

Cheers,

Dolf
