....But it wasn't R.E.M.'s performance that was bad. It was the fact that I was moved from the buffer spots in front of the stage to a place 100m from the stage. I stood in a bar all night and poured beer. Couldn't see a god damned thing from there. I could hardly hear anything either.
Anyway, the doors opened at 1800 hours. REM did sound check at 17.00. So I stood and watched it. Right in front of Michael Stipe. I was outside the inner ring. Then we all got thrown away for some reason. It really sucked. I was only able to hear a few songs. They sounded great. What's The Frequency Kenneth and Nightswimming sounded cool. They played all the classics with the exception of Bang And Blame.

A friend from work called Trine told me something interesting today. She had heard from a guy, who she says is relieable, that a major rock act will come to Horsens next year. So that means either The Stones, or Springsteen. Springsteén recently played in Denmark, but will return with the E-Street Band next year (The one a few weeks ago was solo). That really sounds good to me.

You're lucky. The last time I saw REM they just sucked.

Since when is 'Bang and Blame' a classic and 'It's the end of the world as we know it' not?

Their last albums are all the same. Automatic was their last great one. Monster and New Adventures are alright, but after that they really sucked and I haven't thought about them since.

But once they were a good band.

Automatic For The People is one of my favorite albums of the 90's. Unfortunately, I never really followed the band after that. Favorite song on the album is the Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight. I never knew what they were saying in the chorus until I finally looked it up online several years ago. "Call me when you try to wake her up". I originally thought they were singing Coming to Jamaica.

I saw them last October. Absolutely fantastic, even if the setlist had too many songs from the new record (the only one of theirs I don't really like).

Since Berry left they suck. Don't know why. "Automatic was a great album with the tune "Sweetness Follows". Talk about open tunings...Stipe is Vegas.
But what cracks me up about that setlist is that there are SIX tunes for the planned encores. SIX @#$%& songs!
