question about '81 releases by EV and DAC

To my ears the soundboard releases from Empress Valley from the '81 tour sound much more clear than the sb releases from DAC. Good comparison is one of the Hartford shows which is released by both labels (first by EV and than by DAC in a 4CD pack).
Also both s.b. releases by EV with the New Barb. rehearsals are extremely clear.
Can somebody react on this and explain the technical reason behind it?
It;s almost unbelievable by the way how many great sounding Led Zeppelin releases are still coming on the market in Japan, also mostly by EV. Beatifully packed, with interesting comments on the particular show. But very expensive.
Same counts for Clapton, mostly released by EV related label.
