Saw "Crossfire Hurricane" on arte last night and was quite disappointed that they didn't cover the band's story throughout the 1980s and beyond. Granted, this being an "official" doc and all, it would have been hard for them to go into the details of the Jagger/Richards "feud" or Mick basically "selling" the Stones to Michael Cohl, but still.

this documentary wxas dedicated to the 60's and the 70's
I suppose it was a deliberate choice from Mick.

sometimes you can see some footage which has nothing to do with comments

This is not a Stones doc this is MICK analysing the evolution of the band and the evolution of Western society ftom the 60's to now.
He talks a lot and he sure wants us to know he's an intellectual...

PS : if you blinked just once during the doc you probably missed Stu and
Nicky...

At the theatrical release of 'Crossfire Hurricane' the subtitle was 'The Rise of the Stones':

Strange and poor documentary.
They used the altamont footage to express their reactons on Brian's death. There was no Stu mentioned....

some live extracts from the sixties (from Charlie is my Darling ?) and some rehearsal such as "tell me" and "ventilator blues".
there is a also a 60's live satisfaction very energetic, also "punk" ...

You're right but these were frustrating samples at best.

Had I bought the BR I would have loved to be able to, when I heard the unreleased version of SOTE to click on an icon, leave the CF doc and listen to the outtake while a disaporama of 68 pix would be displayed on my TV screen.
Bliss...

CF is so 1980's in its form... I almost prefer 25x5.
