If you count the times Keiht said this before, the new album is the "NEW EXILE NO. 5".
Of No Security Keith said that this is "another Get Yer Ya Ya´s Out"...

wELL, IF i'VE UNDERSTOOD THIS CORRECTLY, Keith is mixing in LA. Keith's been at the wheel shis time, as he was on Exile (that's my favourite Stones album!) And when Keith's happy, I'm happy. When he sings "Happy", I'm even happier...

Keith should know better than to make such a statement. Each album they make should stand on their own (or fall over) and not be compared.

I do feel that MJ & KR have worked hard on this album and that it will be good. I hope it's not a "split" album....this is a MJ song, this is a KR song....which was never more obvious than on B2B. It was like jamming 2 solo albums together.

I do not want Exile remade, I already have Exile.....I want some new songs from the band basd on who they are NOW and what they can come up with.

Obviously, the band has nothing to prove. It is more than likely MJ & KR have realized that this albun may in fact be THE last, so it better be good. They do have a history of rising to the occassion.

Thats the reality, and the music will probably reflect it all.
Lack of spontaneity and creativity, and unfortunately they will probably rely on outside inspiration and sources.
If this is the case, the results will not be the best. Is this what you want?

I want to hear some vintage Stones, even if it's a repeat of the past!

smile: i knew as soon as i heard Keith say that that people would hear it as if he were comparing the new album to Exile in some artistic sense. as a couple of people have already noted, he was merely talking about the fact that it's largely been made at Mick's house in France.
and me i'm waiting so patiently to hear what the artists are into sharing with us.

After ahving seen the clip on RS.com and hearing the rehearsal I have a really good feeling about the album!!

The Stones (I mean Mick, Chollie and Keith; not the extraneous meembers) have a positive talent for pulling a big surprise w/a stunning release. Look at "Beggar's Banquet", "Some Girls" and "Tattoo You".
