Today's Wall Street Journal Magazine has a fairly in depth profile of Marianne.

Long on my bucket list ( growing smaller all the time) is a Marianne Concert. Broken English was my introduction, and though I cannot say I love everything she has done, I can say I listen to everything she puts out with interest, and have been pleasantly rewarded more often than not. Blazing Away is one of my all time favorite live albums.

BTW anyone who knows where to get a DVD of Blazing Away please let me know.

She was on jools holland show last night.

Its on the bbc iplayer around the 17 minutes mark.

Her singing was flat - well, flatter than normal - the song didn't have much of a sparkle. The PR hype says the album is a masterpiece. I look forward to being impressed but this performance offered no hope that it will be.

And Jools said there'll be more songs from her on Friday's extended show.

For all her foibles, I love Marianne's gravelly voice and delivery and am looking forward to seeing her again in November.
