This is one of the ways Taylor does it in 1972, in 1973 he alters it with:
In the key of G (yeah yeah) start at the 7th fret with a G7 and descend in half steps to the triad of Gmajor: E string third fret, Gstring 4th fret). Watch your timing: the F# is not part of the G scale, so it has to dissolve into the descending scale. Timing is crucial. When to C (How come ya) then play: Estring fifth fret, G string 6th, slide both two semitones up and down again, and end with a country bend Cpentatonic (between 5th and 7th fret).
It actually sounds a lot harder then it really is when you write it down!
