This band is pretty good.

Go to www.maroon5.com

and click on "links" and "discography"....look at the 2 photos on these pages and tell me that does not look like Brian!!! Wearing a striped shirt a la Brian. I don't know the name of this guitarist, anyone know?

Also if you go to the audio/video section, watch the video "She will be loved", the guitarist wearing the suit (is this the same one?)....resemblance even the biting of his lower lip, same expression.

"She will be loved" - one of the most nausiating attempts at false setto I can remember.
Thanks for sticking this crap song in my head.

Have you ever lent somebody $20 and never seen them again? It was probably worth it.

A terrible band, terrible singer and also the most arrogant bunch of geezers I have ever met in my life.

How did you met them Mathijs? You didn't attend a concert of them or did you?

Cheers,

Some time ago the band of a friend of mine played before my band for a benefit concert that we had organized. We all played mainly covers. After the concert my friend asked me what I thought of his performance (it was his first outing).
I told him that I loved the second half, but the first was so and so. "above all what was that s... you played just before the band intros?"

"well, Maroon5 ... "

I heard their album once. Not great, but not too bad.

Certainly not worthy of a support slot on a Rolling Stones tour though...

All they need to do is get AC/DC to support with them for the whole world tour.

Simple!!

It's pop music, not Hendrix or ACDC for cryin' out loud. They recently won a Grammy and are very successful, can't be that bad.
Besides I've already seen ACDC open for the stones at sars-stock, I used it as an opportunity for the 1 hour queue to get a t-shirt. ACDC I do not like.

Very disapointed that they are opening in Detroit. Was hoping for Black Eyed Peas. Doesn't matter. I'll probably still be at the casino when Maroon 5 is on stage.

Well in Ottawa we get "Les Trois Accords " and "Our Lady Peace" opening....wanna switch?

On further investigation, it appears there is only a SLIGHT resemblance--- Brian was more talented with better style & bone structure!! LoL.

Complete crap. Wonder if they will get pelted with bottles like Justin Timberlake.

Saw them on TV during some sort of MTV show or something, the singer was so off key, even my cats had a wondering look in their eyes....

Bands with numbers or colours in their name
always seems to suck
And this band has both!

I guess Grammys can be bought
cuz thats the only way i would give them one

wawijr,
What about these bands some of them aren't bad..

Pink Floyd
Black Sabbath
The Black Crows
The White Stripes
U2 (although I hate them)
311
Ten Years After
Jackson 5
Deep Purple
3 Dog Night
Moody Blues
Blue Oyster Cult
10cc
Red Hot Chilli Peppers

But I agree Maroon 5 SUCKS!!!

yea they are great bands

i was thinking of all these more recent bands

Seven Mary Three
Matchbox 20
Sum 41
Three Doors Down
D12
Yellowcard
Three Days Grace
Five For Fighting
Finger 11

I agree, I find it very hard to find new music that is worth listening to. Its a shame bands like Blind Melon are gone, thought they would bring back the classic rock vibe.

Re: Maroon 5

Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman ought to be the back-up bands. However, can you imagine the egos involved in something like this? I'm sure the fights would all be on stage.

I'm sure you're right, Richard!

I think Maroon5 is better than the Black Eyed Peas, but I don't have any cds from either band. The stones can be a bit arrogant too, and Mick isn't a perfect singer either. As opener, I'd also like to see Pearl Jam, I just have a wide variety of tastes in music.

Miss U are you familiar with Psychic TV's tribute to Brian, "Godstar"? It has Brian's pic on the cover & has just been re-issued (originally came out in the 80s)

Yeah but you know, I've never heard it. Would like to hear those Bernard cds you mentioned too. Have a feeling these things aren't easy to find....
