Can't imagine anything worse than losing a child. My heart goes out to her family.

Terrible news about one so young with two very young kids of her own as well. Strength to her family, who already had the tragedy of Paula Yates' death.

This means Tiger Lily has lost both parents and a half-sister all before he has turned 18. Terrible.

I met her a couple of times through work. A prickly, stuck-up sort, but, of course, this is tragic. My sincere condolences to her loved-ones.

Bob Geldof's statement:

"Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.

Writing "was" destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.

Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken.

Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof."

I got six of them (kids between 15 and 33) ....I cannot imagine and don't want to imagine what this will do to you

I feel desperately sorry for Bob Geldof. As that article says, it's just been tragedy after tragedy.

Very sad story...and so young. The autopsy is inconclusive, so now they will be conducting toxicolgy tests which could take several weeks. Unbearable for the family having to wait for an answer if there should be a definite one forthcoming. On tv last night they were talking about how difficult it was for her to stay thin and the juicing/liquid diets she was on. I immediately thought of Karen Carpenter...another sad story.

Oh that's just such a @#$%& shame. Why aren't people more carefull and more aware of how important they are to those around them? Fame and celebrity mean nothing. Love family and friends is what it's all about and you don't need to be a jenious to understand that. Condolences to the family.

This brought to mind the page below from Jerry Hall's 2010 book:

Geldof had a place in Kent quite near where I grew up--in fact, I suspect it may be the place where Peaches was found--and every year for quite a while he and his family would have a sort of annual fair/concert there for the locals, as a "giving back to the community" gesture. I know he's far from perfect, but that man has tried more than many people to make a positive contribution to the world, and I wish he would get the karma he deserves.
