"Klavierbuchlein" for Wilhelm Friedemann Bach. Four part inventions like his father used to teach the kids. W. F. Bach was quite a party boy, really a wastrel. Sold his father's manuscripts to pay the bills. Imagine!
"The wonder of Jimi Hendrix was that he could stand up at all he was so pumped full of drugs." Patsy, Patsy Stone
Buddy Holly. ("Best of?") Peter Tosh "Legalize it". Bob Marley & the Wailers eraly stuff Björk Chuckster Place Pigalle Stripped Companion Maxi Priest (!)
the tiny local record store finally got in the 2 newest releases i've been salivating over:
kraftwerk- minimum-maximum (live 2004, mostly eastern european shows) wow! radioaktivity, autobahn, the tour de france numbers,...incredible. i was lucky enough to catch them a month ago in a 1000 seat DC club. i can't imagine enjoying any other guitarless CD/artist this much.
swervedriver- juggernaut rides. my favorite british guitar band of the 1990's has a 2 cd retrospective (sadly) with several unreleased tracks. for the uninitiated, track down "duress" and "duel" off of the Mezcal Head CD. the punchiness of the Stooges meets psychadelia meets the open road...Oasis et al. aren't fit to tie swervedriver's shoes.
unofficially release: jeff beck b'day 2004 at RAH. guest appearances by ronnie and imogen heap. 4 weak songs (IMHO) but the rest is gold!!! still pushing boundaries with his last 3 studio cd's. roy's toy, brush with the blues, angel footsteps, porkpie hat, nadia, etc. all delivered live with just bass/drums/keys. absolutely brilliant! plus a transcendent/poignant version of day in the life (with its lyrical reference to the very RAH). would like to see MT take a cue or two from this type of format (ie-mostly instrumental, occ. guest vox, some contemporary, some swing, some blues, some rockers) to better showcase his talent.
Yeah - and Ritchie Blackmores R-a-i-n-b-o-w, Led Zep´s first & fourth album & "Winter"(t h e cut) over & over. And I wonder where the hell my ol´ cassette tape with FREE is...
Right now listening John Fogerty: Premonition.... great CD - is recommendable .... just heard Suzie Q - some of the guitar sound is quite similar to some Stones thing from at the Max - don't remember if it is 2000 light y......
Right now I'm enjoying some Stones studio bootlegs (thanks to rockpassion), Solomon Burke, Elvis Costello, (still) Hellacopters and the new Van Morrison (Magic Time).
Tim Ries - Alternative Side.....nice version of Moonlight Mile Greg Trooper-Make It Through This World - White boy soul produced by Dan Penn Southern Soul Showcase-Cryin' In the Streets....Great soul from late 60's Rolling Stones - The Lost Sessions Vol1 Empress Valley
I didn't really liked it the first time i played it after i bought it when it came out but now after some listening i really start to like the album. It's the same with all the U2 albums (at least from Achtung Baby on) it gets better everytime you listen to it!

May be quite right. Except for War; with which the opposite is the case; loved it from first hearing, then over time I got weary. Maybe it´s time for it again...
LITTLE FEAT! Dixie Chicken. Love it (listened to it a while 22 years ago while in military service & have seen the old issue of´em in concert on tv)! REally love it, strongly!! ...I swear I hear Chuck'sters' influences when he plays with Stones; maybe I start likin him... At times, if you close your eyes, you can pretend he´s Stu. Or that it´s spicey, red-hot, burning, diabolical & warm-hearted Dixie Roots Rock & Jambalaya!
