Well, the Stones ARE middle of the road, so don't expect Tool to open for the Stones.

I went to high school with John Mayer and even back then that kid thought he was all that and acted like it to everyone. Funny that he is famous now because he used to go around telling people he would be one day. He didn't have many friends in high school for this reason.

If I fly in from Europe on show day then I have to admit there have been times I have been sleeping on my chair when the warm-up have been on. That is the only time you can sleep in the chair without being thrown out becuae they think you are drunk or something. So it is ok if they are not that exciting. Of course this is very selfish of me, but at least I don't miss anything important, right. When Joss Stone is warming up then I think I will get rid of jet lag before the first show some way. Too great act to sleep through.

Well, I wonder how Eddie Vedder reacted when he learnt that his arse will be admired by people paying 400 plus USD ...

Besides that, McReady IS a fan and I would truly love him being invited for a guest spot during the stones act. It is not unusual to hear bits and pieces of stones music during PJ gigs (I can remember Sympathy, Burden and Angie).
Did you ever note that in the solo of Alive, the studio version from ten, he plays a couple of lines from the Sympathy for teh Devil solo? I am absolutely sure that it was somehow intentional!

I'm not at all suprised by their selections so far. Other bands I wouldn't be suprised to see are...

The Killers
Keane (Though maybe they are TOO BIG to open in the UK)
Snow Patrol
Kings Of Leon

I must admit though, with Maroon 5 and Blacl Eyed Peas, it's all looking a bit poppy at the moment!

FACT.

Yep....it will DEFINITELY be worse...especially if they go with the Crap-Arse "Hives" who played the same song for an hour straight.....or the Slightly Less Lame "Hellacopters"...

a few shows will rock....perhaps w/ AC/DC again.....or ZZ Top (who was OK, not great).....

what exactly do people WANT though??? It's just the opening act....if you don't want to hear it...don't show up....simple solutions....

unless, of course, it is a General Admission show and you HAVE to get there early to get your good spot on the "pitch"....

Hey great: Perl Jam. And may be ZZ Top. On the last tour they had AC/DC who rocked the crowd more than the Stones did.
Some opening acts (or there management/record company) pay a lot of money to play such shows and some get a lot of money (e.g. AC/DC about 500000 Euros). It depends how fast they can sell the tickets.

Always the brightest of ideas from one & the same brain.
That could be the warm-up act. After that comes the
cold showers from the Has-beens from Seattle,
the Grungiousaurs Rex of Arena polished once-rebel rock...
No: kiddin, I really like these Pearl Jam-blokes.

Wonder if we´ll se´em in Europe, too;
or if my old friends from the Geezer City Göteborg tsool would do.
I sure wont mind if the Soundtrack of Our Lives stepped into
PJ:s place... But, maybe they´re a little too close to the Stones, musically.
Hey; Burning Spear. That´s something...
