AC/DC ? yeah, like that'll happen again ;o)

once a support blows off the headliner it aint gonna happen again. i bet Mick still has sleepless nights about the Sarsfest ;o)

for me, the reformed Black Crowes would be a nice treat. as long as they cut the jamming and deliver some classics

I am actually pretty happy with the Tragically Hip for the Moncton show. Can't really think of who else I'd prefer over them.

CULTURE - Serious Jamiacan roots-reggae, everyone would love it!

After Toots & the Maytalls opening in Rotterdam on the Licks tour, Culture seems the next logical step.
Or, Jimmy Cliff.

Mando Diao - A Swedish band that are cocky, self-assured and full of killer attitude. They are currently touring the States and will soon come to Europe.

Reggae sounds good to me. Who ever it is they should have them at more than one or two shows. Pick 2-3 good back-up acts and stick with them. How aboput Taj Mahal? Or, Madeleine Peyroux? Something a little eclectic, out of the mainstream. How about Pete Thownsend? (lol) Reggae would do the trick though. B.B. King would be nice too. (Is that more than one? oops)

I ain't stupid, I'm just guitarded.

They were the supporting act in Ahoy, Rotterdam in 2003 for The Stones. And they were bad. Anyone else who saw them in 2003?

The Black Crowes would be great. What about the Kaiser Chiefs?

NICK CAVE

Or maybe change them according to the cities. I.e. Neville Bros in Louisiana, Kings of Leon in the South (although the damnSouth of the USA sure could use a straight charge of Reggae like Black Uhuru), Louis XIV in Califa. Maybe Thrills in UK or Kasabian, like those guys.

Ol´Stevie & almost-ol Nick Cave are good choices, Pserchia & Chelsea.
Would be my second choises both. To accentuate the rootsy feeling we had a share of last ruby Tuesday & which possibly is the "new" Stones featured along the tour, Wonder would have been a wonderful choice

Cave is more blues than most people realize. Saw him 87 & some year at Roskilde (its all dazed & confused for me those Roskilde years) and he is always interesting... Would perhaps suit Europe better than the states? Get him here, and may they alternate between him and Black Uhuru... Any reports otherwise, Chelsea, what he is up to nowaday, Nick?

Not impressed either. But I heard it might have been different with the location within the arena. The Stones however were terrific from where I was.

Yeah, the Ahoy concert was excellent. A bit dissapointed by Toots though.

Toots opened both shows at Feyenoord Stadium as well in '03.
He is a legend, I was very impressed!
He is to reggae what Chuck Berry is to Rock and Roll.
After all, he invented the word "reggae".
Saw him way back in '78 in a much smaller venue, and it's great to see the legend lives on...opening for the Stones!
Keith must have made this great choice of openers, he played on the recent Toots and the Maytalls album.

Any fine reggare would do.
Uhuru is a rootsy bastard dreadlocks band in true early Marley-spirit;
I´m sure Keef would like to see a back-upp riddem section - "The Rhytm Twins" is actually the nick name for former drums & bass cats in Black Uhuru: Robbie Shakespeare on bass & Sly Dunbar on drums. I figure the geezers are still on the roads.

Left to right: SLy & Robbie, Robbie S. on bass, Sly D. on drums, Black Uhuru.
