What song are they going to debut on the 2014 tour?
Posted by: Screamer ()
Date: February 2, 2014 13:37

Stones' fanpage on Facebook shared Emotional Rescue and said it's the song they debuted on this tour and asked fans what song should they debut on the upcoming tour. Many people misunderstood the question and wrote songs like SFTD and PIB, but there were many real suggestions such as Jig-Saw Puzzle, Slave, Too Much Blood, Let it Loose etc., but the most common suggestion was Time Waits for No One w/ Mick Taylor.

So, do you think they are going to debut TWFNO? Or some other song? Or some song that was played rarely (less than 10 times)?

A list with all 310 songs (unofficial count), which the Stones have ever performed onstage, can be found here.

For Keith's set, I would suggest 'Slipping Away' (only 3 times played until now).

Time Waits For No One seems a logical choice. Or Winter.

I'd love for Keith to bust out We Had It All -- never will happen though.

I'd like.........all of them?
14 shows is probably not enough to do all of those justice but with a possible European tour, maybe, plus I'd like to hear Going home (although done briefly in the 60's and Child of the Moon..........

ironic that Some Girls Deluxe could probably receive as good a response on stage as they got in 1978 when they were still daring their audience and playing 7-9 new songs a night from that record...

"Time Waits For No One" could be fitting in many ways. That would get my vote.

Taking that Taylor is there, a daring choice would be "Plundered My Soul", but I am afraid think they don't consider that stuff as proper material. Someone mentioned "Out of Time" - why not! From that era there is also one top ten hit they never had played live - "We Love You" - almost a forgotten gem, but probably too obscure for them these days. Has "Tell Me" ever played live? That would be a great choice as well, the first Jagger/Richard original they ever released, and is having a 50th Anniversary during the tour.

From Ronnie's heyday era there are some good rockers they have never touched, like "Too Tough", "Summer Romance" and "Had It With You", but probably they are too buried into albums. Probably a time to pick up "Slave"? They've rehearsed that but never played in a concert, right?

From the big four, there are not much proper material left to make a debut. "Soul Survivor" and "Let It Loose" come to mind.

Me too, but it wouldn't be a debut, as they played in 66/67.

Unfortunately, I realistically think it will be none. I certainly hope I'm proven wrong though.

Dandelion will fit well on Jagger's today vocals and Charlie's drumming.

Mean Disposition. Tack it on to the end of the show as a bonus.

Sadly if they did Sittin' On A Fence it would get dropped immediately because of those dreaded "blank faces". I think if Mick tested the audience more he would be surprised by the results.
