His M, can you recommend the best live Brian Stones boot in your opinion from the Iorr Vault?

If someone could re-post this you'd have just about everything available.

The Paris 1965 - 1967 recordings are essential imo. Honolulu 1966 is as well... The last jones era live concert in USA.

This Live 1965 release is pretty damn perfect and essential though.

Thanks! I've just listened to the Live 1965 release and it sounds nice (except for too much girl screaming).

The Brian slide on I'm Moving On sounds fantastic sound-wise compared to on December's Children.

A standard setlist from the tour, wasn't it?

It ain't all live. This was brought up when the DVD/Deluxe came out.

I'll write up a list highlighting the oddities between the EP and this release once i've compared more.

I'm Moving On for example is the exact same performance instrumentally, but with differences between the vocals.

I'm Alright appears to be essentially the same instrumental performance, but with differences between the vocals and also Brian's guitar.

I'm Moving On was probably doctored a bit to be on December's Children? What about Route 66?

Differences between Brian's guitar? You mean compared to the EP?

Comparing EP with Live 1965.

This is one of the weirdest release yet.

There are definite vocal differences and guitar differences within some of the same performances which obviously tells us there are overdubs.

Weirder still...

The Everybody Needs Somebody To Love intros are one and the same performances, instrumentally and vocally they are exactly the same, however the run at different speeds, but are at same pitch.

That's digital time stretching.

Yeah, they seem to be different vocal and instrument performances.

I think Rockman posted the original in another thread.

Btw, are the "weird" song different on December's Children compared to the EP?

Re: Charlie is My Darling - digital release

Took a break from it cos I was just get crazy from the screaming. grinning smiley

I think the differences are down to combining different recordings, plus live vocals and/or overdubs, or it's all live and just splicing between different recordings.

The latter seems likely, but need to make sure the instruments also change when ever the vocals do.

Eg parts of I'm Moving On are one and the same, others parts are different. Verse two is different and so is the build up to the harmonica and slide climax, but the actual harmonca slide section is the same.

There is some time stretching on this new release though, dunno why they decided to do that. Also the use of audience screaming loops.

So maybe label it as a live composite? It's great stuff all the same and due to the differences the original EP is still it's own thing.

Original ep tracks and Decembers Children seem to be one and the same. The differences seem to be between the old releases and the new. Maybe they don't want to kill the original EP eh so in addition to the never released stuff they give us actual different versions and also partially different versions to the old ones. grinning smiley

The guitar intro to Rt 66 is one of my all time favorites. I turn it up and play it over and over in my car. What a sound!

This was worth it for Little Red Rooster alone. One thinks of Brian playing his parts like arrangements, the same way every time. But this version actually seems like a variation, with some real feel and improvisation to it. Brian is so engaged that it's thrilling. Of course it wouldn't last.
