That's one of the best ever, though.
My fave opening couplet:
God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son."
Abe said, "Man, you must be puttin' me on."
I'm completely lost. I didn't suspect any intent of harm, I'm just confused why you put that question to me personally (have we had a discussion about Out Of Time or something?), and why you keep expressing your desire to not cause harm or offend me.
"Why don't you ask him if he's going to stay?" is the opening line isn't it? Or maybe there's another version/cut of the song I'm not familiar with. I love that album, or Lindsey's songs at least. "What Makes You Think You're The One" is my favorite Fleetwood Mac song.
When I heard them do it live in New York in '79, am pretty sure that's the line he opened with....maybe song wasn't Tusk but from that album...in any case, a knockout performance! what an instrumental buildup. at the time, Buckingham & Nicks were going thru a breakup & taking turns belting out songs about each other as were Mr. & Mrs. McVie. added fuel to their performances.
It probably was Tusk, just a different live vocal arrangement. Because "Don't say that you love me" are lyrics from the song, but on the studio version it comes later on.
