If that is your opinion, fine.
But do we really need new threads for every comment like that?
The board is flooded.

Be serious now. No more Paint It Black, pliz.
How could they have played better?
With loads of synthezisers or more techno?

I just think that "oh no not you again" was a bit confused

Judging from the 3x 1 minute I saw, I thought they played pretty good, better at least then at the 5 dutch shows I heard in 2003. A supple performance. Something to do with the relative early hour and their soberness?

Oh no may have to settle in the boys´ bodies.

Open G:s crap talk on "we get the same" SMU & BS is just unbelievable; if you didnt hear they sure did put horsesh*tloads in tons & galaxy weights & unexpected energy into these weary songs you have no ears or no brain! Wake up!

Brown Sugar rules....

At last we can hear Brown Sugar without horns and backing vocals, so the minute I heard of it was good for me... And no backing vocals in Start Me Up is fine for me too, thanks. So it wasn't bad.

Yeah, keep in mind it's been some time since their last real show. Then it's a very brave move to play live to the world press and even more so as a fivepiece. A week ago I found it hard to believe they would do that and I'm very happy they did. And I prefer my rock 'roll a bit sloppy to boring perfection!

OpenG, why did you watched the press conference/performance?
You always say that you love the stones with MickT and after that everything is bad. I don't get why you are still listening if you know you're not going to like it.

Cheers,
Wuudy

Like I said I am a rolling stones fanatic and enjoy the taylor period the best
and have all there records.Ron Wood's contributions for me have been in the studio and my comments are always about there live sound after MT and not having
that true lead player to support the band.

Rough and tough they sounded with lots of energy, and i like it like that.
Stripped down to the basics of pure rock'n'roll - wow.
I can see good things comming our way

Hey OpenG, how about changing your nick to Vibrato?

I was there and it was excellent. Perfect sound. Great licks. May be the broadcast did not communicate what we experenced being there.

I was at the press conference as as a veteran of 90+ show's I can tell you they did play well. Only bad point was the banal questions they were asked, why don't they send press who actually know something about the music to these press conferences?

MAybe the Stones or their distributors/Virgin has themselves to blame.
The PC press release contained nothing more than minimalist basic info, which probably pulled more media people there; but also lay a superficial filter over it.

And the press release seems to have arrived less than 24 hours to the most stations.

- A rock PC online, chatting with the boys; wouldnt that be a great idea... ?
