What became of that silly woman who said that in 1973?
Has she apologised lately?

To be fair, that silly woman didn't say she expected Keith to die, she was asking him what he thought of the poll. But, I bet she regrets asking him the question, can you imagine who many times people have asked her about it?

She died of an overdose.

(That was a joke by the way).

(Of bad taste).

Okay, we're talking about two different silly people in that case - I didn't watch the clip.
A European guy (I think it's a guy?!) asked him about the poll.
An Australian female nitwit narrated some footage, "introducing" Keith by saying he wouldn't make 70.
She was surely echoing what Keith said about Brian in an Australia 73 interview -
but it's different saying that about someone who's already dead, isn't it.

I hope she's been sorry on a regular basis ever since.

Okay with sssoul, I see my mistake now. Thank you for pointing it out.

But, in the interest of Historical Accuracy, I believe the interviewer that asked Keith about the poll is a woman.

Now where is our HA department head? grinning smiley

The nitwit I'm referring to appears to be named Jeune Pritchard.
Anyone know whether she's still around, and if so how old she is?

And latebloomer, if you dig up the clip where Keith is asked about the poll,
I'll wake up the Head of the Department of Historical Accuracy.
Unless someone local to the interviewer (wasn't it in Scandinavia somewhere?) can identify him/her for us.

Here's a short clip, with ssoul, taken from the Shine A Light movie.

Hopefully the Department Head is awake now.

Yep, that snippet is from the interview I was thinking of. Amsterdam 1973 - here's more of it:

Lousy quality but the Department of Historical Accuracy can't help it!
That voice and manner of speech could belong to any gender, really.
So the Department Head requests the input of locals who recognize the interviewer.

Doesn't Keith call him/her darling...and wouldn't that tilt the scale toward the interviewer being female? But, perhaps not...

This very important question needs to be answered, please tell the department to make it a priority.

Elly de Waard. I used to think this interviewer was male as well. Evidently not.

Thanks for the name, Gazza!
When you search the name via google images, confusion over the gender is rawther understandable.

But in regards to that 'poll' question, isn't that all of 'part of the story' now, adding one dimension to the mythology which works for the legacy of Keith Richards now? So important that Scorsese needed to remind of that in SHINE A LIGHT... Probably it was embarrassing for Keith at the time, but I see it in analogy to the famous "Judas" comment, which surely didn't make Dylan happy back then when it was thrown to him, but it is a part rock and roll history now. (I recall reading an interview of the 'Judas' guy, and he he was rather amused about it now, admitting being wrong but a young and a fool... it was very contextual and all that).

So these 'stupid' people have their role in the great history of rock and roll, so we better not to judge them too harshly...

That was it like back then. Nowadays fathers and mothers (and grandfathers/mothers) trying to convince their children/grandchildren when bringing them to concerts and buying them tickets, that 'hey, they look horrible, but there is good music in there, and good music used to be like that'...grinning smiley

Elly is a woman's name Jeroen, the reference is to her looks. It's nice of you to ignore that. Looking at the english language poetry web page, she sounds like an interesting, creative person.

Mercy - no one was criticising her! At least I wasn't, nor was Gazza.
All I said was that it's not so strange that some of us used to think the interview was conducted by a man.

The person I referred to as silly was someone else entirely, who had said something quite unkind,
apparently just to make herself sound hip. Nothing to do with Ms de Waard.

Oh dear...didn't mean to imply that there was any criticism, merely commending Jeroen's display of nice manners about the lady. (It was a little surprising.)

Peace and love everyone, it's Christmas time. smiling smiley

So that's NOT Stephen Fry with a straightened nose?

Edit because Mr Fry's initials are obviously not SP. *sigh*
