I saw the Black Crowes saturday in Asheville, NC. (pretty mediocre show).
Anyway, they are doing the "Instant Live" thing, where you can buy a double CD of the show afterwards; in this case, it was $25, the cd's were ready to go about 15 minutes after the last note.
I think this would be an excellent thing for the stones to do, especially if this is indeed going to be marketed as a "farewell tour." Would be great for the fans, and no doubt another revenue stream to accompany tic sales, t-shirts, beer percentage, etc.
LOl, yes, it would be nice, but it would require a mobile backstage studio at every venue-- "Your CDs will be available in approximately two hours, after the band quickly overdubs any glitches and remixes the performance."

You hit it on the head, wisertime!
I had my heart set on Silver Train, Happy or Torn and Frayed.

A thing Pearl Jam did in 2000. The sound was OK, soundboard, but not too well produced (muddy overall). But you could buy (every show) after the tour.

I'm probably being way too cranky and critical.
I think the vast majority of those in attendance did enjoy the show a lot.
Not much I can offer as an excuse except "I'm no schoolboy, I know what I like!"
