Good topic and I'm with you on your choice Ebi-san! My favroite is the Winterland poster, June 6th and 8th, 1972. After that the 1970 European Tour poster.

I've got two favorite posters,

1. Western Spring Stadium show on Feb. 11 in Auckland, New Zealand on '73 Winter Tour. It features the national bird of New Zealand, a Kiwi.

2. Cardiff Castle Cardiff, Wales.Sep. 22, '73. The one with the dragon. Incidentally, the show was canceled. This poster is supposed to be the hardest to get.

1. 1969 America Poster (greatest ever)

2. Winterland (Tumbling Dice)

3. Cardiff Castle...very nice indeed

4. MSG VIP Poster (with the naked woman above them...from the last 2 shows they did there).

5. 1989 Silver Train Poster for the 2 Oakland shows

6. Halloween VIP poster 1994 from Oakland

7. Phunky Butt (live poster with Jagger/Richards/Woods - black & white & Mick wearing the Phunky Butt - ok..not tour...but VERY hot & nobody seems to know what I'm talking about).

8. New Zealand (with the Kiwi Bird on it)

9. 1971 (with the car on it & the curtains...listing the shows...about 7 of them including Leeds)

I have a very understanding G/F who has allowed me to decorate our house with all this crap.

1978 with the daughter of the premier of China in a "farmers overalls" with the Stones tongue on the front. That poster was nixed at the midnight hour when the final approval was not given by the Premier. He thought his daughter would be elegantly dressed in silk, when he saw that...no poster available that year. I have what I believe (so I am told), as the only one in existence.. I was offered $10,000 for it about 10 years ago by an English collector my brother met on Hollywood Boulevard. I can't sell it...I'll never get it back!!! I bought it at a 3 day rock n roll convention in NYC in a luxurious hotel right across the street from MSG on 7th Avenue. I paid $45 for it at the time, about 1982 or so. I was arguing about the price with the guy who was selling it, telling him that he was also selling 1972 Tour posters for $5...and I didn't think that a poster that was 4 years old, should cost 9 times more than a poster thgat was 10 years old, he said take it or leave it, I'm glad i took it...it proudly sits on my wall with my other Tours of the USA. Forget it guys...not for sale.

Quite unbelievable! (and you must be very naive to think you have the only poster in existence.....)

Perhaps not the best but darn good, like most of them-
Licks World Tour 2003-04 with its pomo tongues, has
a place of prominence framed on my livingroom wall!

I also have a reprint of the art nouveau girl (69)
sans the writing inside the little box between her
feet. Full colour, had it mounted too.

Euro 73 is a classic too! Boy, I like all of them!!!! ;-)

the fav in my collection is "Urban Jungle - Prague 1990"!
"THE TANKS ARE ROLLING OUT - THE STONES ARE ROLLING IN" - great

a day before the concert when we arrived in prague me and a friend
of mine met the guys who sticked them on the walls, so we got a
absolutely new one and a few smaller handbills - very nice remembrance

I have 2 of those 78 posters. While they are quite rare & VERY valuable...there are a few out there. But I am with you...I won't sell mine for $10,000 either...

Speaking of tour posters, I just picked up this item

which was for shows the Stones were to do in Japan in 1973 but were never perfromed due to the Japanese government's refusal to give Mick a visa because of his drug conviction in 1967. Until now I have never seen this poster and so I was wondering if anyone could tell me something about it. Does anyone know the story behind it?

I personally like the '75 Tour of the America's poster. The eagle with the jet engines. Had it and lost it. Still pissed about it.

This sounds interesting about the 78 tourposters. Is the one that evetually came out with the Aryan looking broad a takeoff from the Chinese version? I also always thought it looked very Communist.
I am sure I have seen the 69 poster that y'all refer to a million times but I can't visualize it. Is it the sort of greenish one?

I like the tongues flying in over the Statue of Liberty on the 81 U. S. posters. They also mention sponsor Jovan (remember the first tour sponsorship?)
