Jagger and Taylor Imagery

When Sir Jagger sings ILL wrap my coat around you Women and that sets off
Taylor's melodic wonderment I get this feeling that Taylor is wrapping his
guitar around the whole song and makes the song magical and special and thats
what Taylor brought to songs where he was able to contribute. Many of the glimmer
songs that have that magical feeling have Taylor's Vibrato:

Moonlight
Winter
CYHMK
Travelin Man
I don,t Know The Reason Why
Hide Your Love
Time Waits
Shine a Light

Agree totally Open G. It always amazes me how songs like Winter, 100 Years Ago and Hide Your Love are often slighted when compared to the Beggars-Exile period. There's so many beautiful moments on Goats Head Soup that are not always appreciated because they don't represent the more typical and loved aspect of the Stones music.
It's also true to say songs like Winter and Goats Head Soup as a whole are the real representations of the greatness of Taylor aside from the live bootlegs.

GHS is the best album IMHO.
LIB has a more even level; but GHS is a masterpiece that keeps together,
which is a unity. I listen to it almost daily.
Its no doubt the most rock'n'roll-ish of the StonesĀ“ albums.

Probably recorded during the first full studio session with Taylor after he passed the "audition" and returned from a Germany tour with the Bluesbreakers. One of the versions appears on Metamorphosis.

Baboon Bro,

naughty!!!!!!!!!

but, while we are on topic of GHS and Winter........what I've enjoyed today is the Charlie Watts Drum Experience.

Not only were the 'exploratory' tracks on the album great vehicles for Taylor they also give room for Watts to show his natural and easy feel in some more varied musical contexts.

Jivin Sister Fanny

Recorded between 5 June-3 July 1969 Olympic Studios. Stones with Nicky Hopkins, produced by Jimmy Miller, of course. Only featured on Metamorphosis and as a flipside to the Decca re-issue single Out Of Time 1975, and issued once more on The Singles Collection 1989.
