I saw the 30 years of Rock and Roll Anniversary tour with Chuck Berry 20 years ago that featured Ronnie Wood, Bo Diddley, and a whole slew of other speciaL guests. I remember hoping that Keith would make a surprise appearance, but it never happened. Still, a great show...I can't believe it's been 20 years since then. Time flies.

I remember seeing Chuck at the Keystone Palo Alto in 1979 and it was very dissapointing. He walks onto stage and instead of ripping into a classic song he says that he wants to Fender Twins up on stage right now and when the club manager tries to placate him Chuck rips him a new one. On top of all that he plays just 50 minutes and goes through the motions. A bad show by a great muscian.

Rock'n'Roll´s true inventor...
And you know what? Next year, Oct. 18, he´ll be 80!
Six days after that, Bill Wyman is having his 70th birthday...

the Stones are youngsters... Little kids, really!

I love Chuck...but he will play only 50 minutes...and not practice with anybody before hand...last time I saw him was at the Ritz in NYC, he took about 8 minutes after coming on stage to unwind about 100 feet of thick black guitar cord, while we just waited. If you have never seen him, then by all means go...but if you have, well...
