That party wasn't for Micks' birthday.
Quite obvious to all, that it was the end of tour party.
The press make up their own story..........as usual with the tabloids. eye rolling smiley

He is 70 years old. He came from nearly two hours of physical request. He doesn't look specially bad for a 70 year old rocker and ex drug addict, but he doesn't look specially great neither. It's so difficult to think that he was extremely tired? Put a random 70 years old man to do the gig, and then tell him that he has to go party. We all know his probably answer.

Don't forget that. He is clearly the worst health of The Stones. Paradoxical for the man who one time was the quintaesence of a panzer rocker, the I can take everything man, but this is reality now.

Anyway, it's not a drama. It's good to see Keith able to age and not dying like many others, killed by drugs and all of that shit.

Charlie is 72, has survived cancer and has never been a party animal but he managed to put in an appearance! Just playing Devil's Advocate - I don't think it's a big deal and Keith more than deserves his nap in my book - just don't bitch about wondering where your friend is when you can't be ass'ed to make a courtesy call for half an hour.

It was incredibly hot. It was like standing in a sauna. I can't imagine playing the guitar under those lights for two hours. Maybe he was just knackered, anyway that's his own business.

Boy when you see these pics you really feel the march of time. It seems like only yesterday when our only news about the Stones came once a month via Creem and Circus. Albums back then cost about $ 3.00. Mick Taylor was a Stone. They were young and so were we. Senectus nos privat omnibus voluptatibus !

Also, both a bit too old for that kind of thing now.

Oh, for heavens sake. Too old to go to birthday parties? (Which implies Mick was too old to go to his own birthday party.) To go to parties, period? They've been doing two-hour-plus rock 'n' roll shows, they weren't too old for that!

If you look at It's only Rock 'n Roll video - you can see Keith sneezing and coughing - he probably had a cold and then stayed at home.
