Semi-OT: Magnatone Amps

I noticed Mr. Taylor is playing a Mag on this tour...I just bought the single greatest amp I've ever heard: A Magnatone Imperial M13. Holy crap! One 15" Jensen surrounded by four tweeter. Real Vibrato, reverb, three channels, plus a stereo input. One of the channels has a "Bass" option. The thing is LOUD! Sounds sort of like a cross between an old Fender and a Vox. It's a suitcase amp with the tubes and all the electronics enclosed. Anyone familiar with these? Fantastic amp.

New or used? What'd it cost you? And can you post a pic?

Neil Young's rig. That big thing is not actually an amp, just a speaker cabinet, but cool nonetheless. I think it is the only one in the world. I think Neil does use a Magnatone in his sound.

Huh? I just meant the amp sounds better than the clip.

Aha, that's a bit more information (on a message board) than a blunt 'No!'.

So, I got my Magnatone serviced and here is what the technician put on the invoice: "These are THE most complex point-to-point, hand-built, full-featured guitar/PA/accordian/bass amps ever made."

Three channels:

Channel One has three tone modalities, including "super treble".

There is a "stereo" input which was apparently intended for accordians.

Each channel has separate reverb control, and there is a master "depth" reverb knob.

High or low gain inputs on channels 1 and 2, bass and mic inputs on channel 3.

Separate foot switch jacks for vibrato and reverb.

One 15" speaker and four 3" tweeters.
