I went/will be going to both (if my ticket ever arrives), but the Beeb won't want to talk to me as I'm in the US right now.

They'll fly you here and pay for the expenses, that's the Beeb.

PS: they should interview Ronnie Wood, he was at both gigs. yawning smiley yawning smiley yawning smiley

What "tragedy"? The Stones were out of tune but I don't think their playing was "tragic".

I wasn't there, but it was certainly a tragedy for my family. Luckily my great-grandparents survived to fly another day.

He/she is referring to the moths/butterflies jagger released at the 69 show. Many of them had died prior to being "released".

Wonder whatever became of that skinny black (am I allowed to say that?) dude who was tripping and flailing his arms all around?

Is that the one you are referring to, lazy?

You ought to be able to see me somewhere in that second picture, however unfortunately because of all the taller people in front of me I could hardly see the band . .

I did see some butterflies, though!

So are we going to hear YOU on BBC Radio?? I never stop wondering every time I see old footage and photos who these people were and where they are now. So come on - go for it, both you and oxalaoxun. We need to hear IORRians talking about it on the BBC!

Has anyone here organized a flashmob?

as soon as Sympathy FTD starts - everyone in the know should start the shoulder dance, as seen above in the YT clip. that would be fun, no? smiling bouncing smiley

No, I won't be on the BBC, I'm afraid, as I'm not in the UK. Yet.

I'm thinking it's just as well I can't spot myself in the pics, given what I must have been wearing in 1969 . . . I bet a headband was involved. And a long frock.

Rockee, thanks for the cool pix of Hyde Park 1969.

I had a good spot near the left corner of the stage.
As Aquamarine reminded...yes, I wore a long blue frock.
And daintily (!) carried a large white napkin full of fresh strawberries from the Stones caravan.

I'd flown in from LA that morning and refused to feel anything but pleasure and excitement at seeing the band as well as sadness and continued shock about Brian's death.

The music was over in the late afternoon and I went straight to bed.
