Miss You is as important as Satisfaction, Jumping Jack Flash, and Start Me Up. All were songs that either established, or re-established the Stones as relevant. Miss You was fantastic live, circa 78-82 when Bill was still on bass. Now it's just something that gets the girls up, tippling their cocktails and shouting Whooo-hoo! (Which is what rock and roll should be all about).

And no, Emotional Rescue as an album is not up there with the pantheon of Exile, etc. And yes, I was quite aware of music at that time. A couple of great songs, ER and She's So Cold, and a bunch of B-sides.

Sick to death of MISS YOU! I can't understand how anyone can rate Emotional Rescue up there with their top 4 Albums...really? As good as EXILE and Sticky Fingers?? Pass that cool aid. I will say that I enjoyed hearing the song Emotional Rescue live. It came off very well!!.

Its like "Stairway", a great song that has been beat to death......by percentage, played more than Satisfaction....... ruminate on that....

NOTHING like Stairway... that is beyond and days over the horizon in terms of being off.

Techincally it was Flavor Aid, not Kool Aid. It was originally called Cool Aid...

you've got to be joking.
"emotional rescue" is to "miss you"

"blinded by love" is to "wild horses"

I could do without Emotional Rescue or Miss You or anything else in which Jagger sings in falsetto. His falsetto ruins every song in which he uses it. Worried About You in particular would have been much better if he just sang the damn song.

There are a few hundred songs they could do instead of that horrible miss you. Think you have to live with the fact that 99% of the people here want it out of the setlist. Studiorecording is ok, but live it's nothing but a piece of crap that should have been taken out of the setlist long time ago.

I guess you're just not a fan of the Stones then.

Stones = Jagger, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie.

They get to decide or approve what goes on the set list.

Just be happy with what you have. Oh, and, stop whining please. smiling smiley

There's something iconically significant about Miss You.

The burned-out 60s reprobate still looking for a party in 1978, a bit like Gregg Allman's call to arms in 1994, No One Left To Run With Anymore.

There's a sense of desperation and loss over the torn relationships from years ago, of still looking for the thrill that was just there a few moments ago but has somehow just eluded them.

It's the last chance last time last plea for one more good time.

It is contemporary for the 70s, but with the sense of yearning for what has passed could only have been written by those who had been there since the 60s.

Like The Stones themselves, it tells of the timeline of rock n roll itself--it's the 60s trying to hang on and still be new and forceful at the end of of the 70s.

What?! withsssoul, back me up here please!

Miss you is one of their best songs - studio that is. Perfect.

Hot Stuff is the most underrated. Perfect riff, one of Keiths best, up there with Dance little sister. Misunderstood riffs one might say. And Mick is great on this one, letting himself go. Yes, maybe a bit forced sometimes but so what, youre hot, hot stuff.

Emotional Resque, is a cool song, not the best of course, Shes so cold is so much better. The verses are top notch ("I was dreamin...").

I like Miss You but I think they drag it on to long. It is timeless.
Most important is its fun for them to play. They like to play it. They will play what they like.
One thing to keep in mind on why they play it.... there are many people especially children that this will be the only time they will ever get to see the Stones. And they want to hear Miss You.
Personally I have alot of memories besides Miss You. But I can understand this being one of the better memories from the show.
