I once seized an opportunity to ask Charlie if he wasn't giving away drumsticks that night and could hardly believe it when he summoned his equipment guy over and told him to sort one out for me! The guy dug out a bag of drumsticks from inside a small trunk, got one out and handed it to me. Charlie stood at my side watching and then also kindly agreed to have his picture taken with me.
The drumstick is very well worn and - just like the one in ssf446's photo - it has the maker's name and logo on it (Vic Firth) and Charlie's name and signature. It now sits angled in a wooden stand that a friend made for me.
You guys are lucky. I had always wanted one like everyone else here. Years ago a friend of my older brother got one in Boston after the performance from a Chap named Chip Monck. Looong time ago.
