i called mick, he said...

1.he's mick jagger and he'll speak any damn way he pleases

2.he's written his own dictionary and now the words are supposed to be pronounced that way...he said something that sounded like-"micktionary",but i cant be sure.[available soon for $200 each on rollingstones.com]

3.if you can find even 4 people to pay $600 to watch you do anything for 2 hours you can change the words back

4.go bother whats left of the beatles and leave me alone.

For me there is one line that irritate me a bit ........when he sings in "Thank you for your wine, california" and I hear "Thank you for your wine, gattophoneyou" confused smiley

I like that one!

Really, most of the Mick-isms don't bother me either, like you, latebloomer.

I guess if he said my name wrong or pronounced it way off, it would, if we
were really close. Right now he just calls out, AIN-JAI, which is rather cute, I think.
cool smiley

LOL, that is cute, Angee. As my name is often mispronounced, I do appreciate it when someone takes the time to say it correctly, but Mick certainly is free to say it however he likes. grinning smiley

I hear that as Boy-den.

Rockee - i'm not mat about it, but it makes me cringe.

Lem:
He does it every time, so it's not like it's a screw up, he's deliberately saying it like that, and it sounds dumb to me. I'm entitled to my opinion just as much as the buttheads here who feel the constant need to discuss Taylor vs. Wood. Doesn't mean I'm too old to rock and roll, but thanks for the advice anyway.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

The absolute worst in my opinion is when Mick used to sing H.T.W. ..

"It's the Homamamamamamamky Tonk.Hamamamamamam Tonk Weeemenn"...

No other pronunciation has ever bothered me per se ..but this is just killing the song!

"Well my heavy throbbers itchin' just to lay a solid rhythm down"

sorry if this is a repost, but didn't see a previous discussion....

Mick's pronounciation seems to be occasionally reason for a discussion:

"WTF has happened to Mick's pronounciation these days" [www.iorr.org]

"Why Does Mick Pronounce Some Words So Awkward?" [www.iorr.org]

"Some things Mick never gets right when singing live!!" [www.iorr.org]

"Whats ya' favourite Mick Jagger Vowel Sounds" [www.iorr.org]

Am I the only one who doesn't care about the way Mick pronounces things?

I honestly never think about it, well not until I saw here how many people do think about it...

It's a significant part of Mick's style and I love it!

I remember when I was a kid, trying to re-accuent the words the way Mick did - cool thumbs up

How about the 'You gaddee roll me' in Tumbling Dice?

Other than that I'd be delighted if he'd finally cut the slang and say "I can't get any satisfaction". I mean, grow up already.

I think this is his stage vocabulary.

Doesn't pronounce those words like that in conversation.

I think he's embarrassed at backing down to Ed Sullivan on LSTNT and has spent the rest of his career trying to pretend that he obfuscates the lyrics on purpose.

You all know when the offending words are coming... so put your fingers in your ears (optional la-las).

Simple solutions are the best.
