So far I agree with EVERY band named, except some Beatles (limited) and some Bruce (and Neil). Never got into listening to hendrix, U2, Floyd, van morrison and the rest of the bands named here are all overrated.

what's wrong with listening to overrated bands? most of them are very underrated.

Anyway, my list of huge bands I simply couldn't care for includes (but not limited to):

- The Eagles
- Red Hot Chilli Peppers
- U2
- The Black Keys (since they ditched the 2-piece blues)
- Metallica
- Mumford & Sons


A lot of people listing Bruce. He is one of my absolute favourites. I wonder if people listen to a lot of his 80s hits like Hungry Heart, Human Touch, Born in the USA, Dancing In The Dark etc. and don't realise his first 5-6 albums are simply phenomenal. If you watch/listen to the Hammersmith 1975 show and don't like it, then fair enough ... but I would suggest giving that a try if you haven't.

that's true...i never did realize that...

I've heard all his early stuff, and it just never did anything for me. The difference with Springsteen and a lot of the other artists mentioned in this thread like U2 or Michael Jackson is that I enjoy their stuff well enough when I hear it on the radio even if I'm not a big fan, but Bruce just leaves me cold.

I will say that he puts on a hell of a show, though. I got dragged to one of his concerts by a friend who was a huge fan back when Darkness on the Edge of Town was released, and Bruce really put his heart and soul into it. You could tell he actually cared about the audience. I had a great time despite not caring for his music all that much.

At one point in my youth I bought every Led Zeppelin album that cam eout because you had to if you were going to even think about being cool. Doubt I ever played one a second time all tthe way through.Recently bought the blu ray reuinion, still dont get it.

If you can say you like one or two songs by a band, but not a lot else, can you say you don't really like the band at all? For example, I don't like most of what Yes did, but I like the song "Roundabout." Or I don't like most Frank Zappa, but I do like a handful of songs of his, such as "Peaches En Regalia" and "Motherly Love." Same with U2, Springsteen, the Eagles, and a lot of other bands mentioned here. I can even stand a Bon Jovi song or two. I enjoy some songs by George Michaels. There are plenty of Stones songs I don't like,esp. things after "Some Girl," so it's a matter of degrees of whether one likes or dislikes a band.
