Yet another Stones' cover band. Check out the 'flicks' rockumentary, very funny.

It's great that a lot of places are
getting their own Stones dedicated coverband
to play the bars and local haunts so fans can
get a quick fix of live Stones music, but I
wouldn't put much stock in any of them
beyond that. Still are there for
you to enjoy!

I am a big fan of the Counterfeit Stones and have seen them many times. They do a 'tongue in cheek' version of the Rolling Stones and although they are based in the UK, they have played in France and Spain.

I reckon they are the best Stones tribute band in the UK (I'm not including Stikkyfingers in this of course, as I am biased).

If you get a chance to see them - take it! It's a VERY entertaining night, with a lot of comedy and really good versions of the Stones songs. Nick Dagger is particularly funny and Keef and the boys are very good musicians.

Take it from me, as a musician in a Stones band, these boys are good!

Regards,

Ian.

There is this slightly bizarre detail in their tour history

"Tue 28th Dec 2004 Sri Lanka Secret Location
non applicable
We will be away till 6th Jan 05"

Sounds like " I was born in a crossfire tsunami hurricane"

OK, i admit it is a very bad taste, but maybe the counterfeit stones have also a counterfeit agenda?

I saw them in Glasgow quite a few years ago, I didn't know that they where still on the go. They where really good and really funny. The guy who impersonated Mick was great. I'd recomend them if you get a chance. I see their next gig is in Edinburgh next week, I might just go through for that.

I think I've bust a button on my trousers....

Yep! I saw them in Hammersmith a few years back. Credit where credit is due, this band had mocked up a spoof backstage/tour documentary which played before they took stage. Funny guys!

NEWSFLASH!!!

There is a review in the UK in the Observer on Sunday last (3rd April) of the Counterfeit Stones.

See it here http://observer.guardian.co.uk/review/stor...1450870,00.html

Stikkyfingers got a mention although it was misspelled as 'Sticky Fingers'.

Nick Dagger of the Counterfeit Stones has CONFIRMED (by email to me) that he told the journalist how to spell our name correctly and that he is a fan of ours!

What a nice bloke!!

Regards,

Ian.

Saw them a couple of years ago. Brilliant nights entertainment!

The shows tend to be in three parts. One for the Brian, Mick Taylor and then Ronnie era respectedly
