Always liked this song. Kind of a kick-back to the sixties, maybe type sound? Wonder if Mick had someone in mind when writing this. Seems like a young guy tring to get in some girls pants. There's something unusual, ha-ha.

It fits with the ancient pompous-sounding english Victorian feel of the tune, no?

Sweet little song that is most notable for displaying a rare sign of Jagger vulnerability.
Until now we'd had very few signs of Mick's softer side, Wild Horses and Fool To Cry spring to mind right now.
But here the old roue is admitting that his heart is breaking in two as his far younger rival is pulling away the girl of his fancy. Could it be about Carla Bruni I wonder? It's both shocking and touching that he's letting his guard down and mellowing with age.

It's a beautiful song. It's a nice departure from the pressure of being "the Stones" and reaching out, and as some have stated, reaching back at the same time.
This is a great song that stands on its own. It doesn't have to be a Rolling Stones song. It's a song that just happened to be written by the Rolling Stones.
