RokyfanThe OP was written from the perspective of a fan of the band's entire career, and someone who would like the 50 and Counting tour to include songs from 50 years, not 10.Quote

I would argue it's no great loss.
There's loads from the gold and silver ages they could choose from.
Come on... we all know it...
Yeah, they could put together a great set of songs from only the first 8 years. Call it the 8 Years of Work 42 Years of Coasting Tour. I guess that's what you want.
There are people who like a lot of the later songs, come on, we all know it.

I wouldn't expect anything from VL, B2B, or ABB, but most of their neglected 80s singles were legitimate hits.
Harlem Shuffle and Mixed Emotions were both Top 5. Undercover of the Night was Top 10. Hang Fire, Going To A Go-Go, and Rock And A Hard Place were all Top 25. One Hit (To The Body) was Top 30.
I realize they've pulled Undercover out a few times, but playing any of those songs would've been justified during the Cohl era of tours. Of course, it took the band 33 years to play Emotional Rescue- a #3 single and their second biggest hit of the decade- so clearly Mick just didn't want to revisit that particular era.

Frankly, I don't know why they always seem to drop new songs right after that album's tour.

it would be so much easier to never have played them at all...i see your point.

They've been needlessly 'drowning their young' for the last 30 years.

Not really. They should be the new warhorses. It seems the only song that got that chance to be played alot was the ill-chosen YGMR.
