What, you mean Rock n Roll Circus doesn't count? The article doesn't say last live "public" appearance, just live appearance, which was at RnR Circus later that year.
When was the David Frost appearance? It must have been before May 12, but was not "live" regardless.

I guess it is fair to view the R&R Circus as filming for a TV show. They did do multiple takes etc.
There's still an audience, but it's different from an actual concert appearance.

At least the article is relatively factual. The Rolling Stones did not start on the Dartford train platform as many state now.
