Stones and Donna Summer

My wife (who is a VERY casual Stones fan) pointed out that Fingerprint File on Love You Live reminds her of Donna Summer's Love to Love You Baby.

We listened to both and there are similarities.

Scary

Donna Summmer....geez, showing your age! Yeah, there are similarities in the 2 songs. Not as obvious as George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord" and "He's So Fine"

yup.....44 years old. Loved disco back in high school.

Can't you just see keith in a hotel room with his scarves draped all over the lamps and high from smack and blow trying to figure out the bass line from that song? Then standing up and doing the Hustle?

actually, I'm old enough to remember when Mick and Bianca used to hang out at Studio 54, although it was Bianca who was a fixture in there.

ok...how bad is this? I went to Studio 54 when I was in High School- 1978. I went with a friend of mine and our girlfriends. The girls opened up their shirts to show off their boobies so we could get in. The place was unbelievable! This disco queen named Sylvester tried to make out with my buddy. The guy is still scarred from the incident.

I went back in the 80s and saw Michael Jackson, Dianah Ross, and the Flash Dance troupe.
It wasn;t the same though.

Never did see Bianca or Mick. Saw a lot of other interesting stuff however.

In 78 I was a youthful 24, never saw Jagger in there, however I did see Truman Capote. Yes, there were alot of wild goings on in that place.

Did you ever go to the Electric Circus?

I just saw the movie "studio 54" yesterday. Fun movie to watch, nothing specials. It would have been great to party there i think!

Cheers,
Wuudy

Seeing it in a movie and being there, no comparison....too bad Steve Ruebel shot his mouth off about all the money in the New Yorker article. He was the master of his own demise.

Didn't 54 have the moon with someone riding it?

A lot of rockers
wouldn't be caught
dead in a disco during the
seventies. There was even
a saying, perhaps redundant
today: Disco Sucks.

Personally, I preferred
da funk groove.

True, Keith prefered to go onstage at the Lone Star cafe in The Village. Who would have thought in '75 they would head down 5th Ave in front of the Lone Star?
