No news since three weeks??
Posted by: Strike ()
Date: February 19, 2005 09:17

I visit this forum three or four times a week to check the news about the upcoming tour and album but.... To be honest I´m getting tired to discuss how good a concert in 1972, or Micks voice 1981 have been.

Gimme news!!!!!

There is no official news. The latest un-official news, speculation, or whatever be it true or not is October for new album. Another story from a source on SFJ says June is a press conference for a late summer tour and album. Charlie is doing a Jazz album with Brian Wilson in the upcoming few weeks. Keith and the Pirates sequel are possibly on The Rocks now.

I am sure we will know more in the spring. By May we will have a very good idea on what is to happen with them probably.

I think that the Charlie-Wilson collaboration is probably a hoax.
It's also on this website: [www.geocities.com]
They have a "news page" that looks exactly like the one from IORR...strange.
And I don't know how trustworthy the original source - "The Express" is.

Also, "Ron D." posted this on the Brian Wilson Fan Club Message Board:

There's news from 'BW.com':
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From BW.COM Administrator: Brian and Charlie Watts?
(posted by Administrator on February 2, 2005)
Message:
Hello Johnny: It would be easy to dismiss this one, but just in case, we asked Brian's management about any such project, and they tell us there is absolutely no truth to it at all... Thanks - see you soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

more about Charlie:
I think this was posted before on Rocks Off - it's from Bill Wyman's Diary.

Monday, February 14, 2005

I got up at 8:00am to a partly sunny day, read the newspaper & watched the news on TV, then & got myself changed & ready. Charlie Watts arrived just before 9:30am, then Terry Taylor arrived. We left & Terry drove us to the studio

RECORDING SESSION (UK): Bill Wyman with Peter Frampton, Charlie Watts, & Chris Stainton at Eden Studios, Chiswick, London

Engineer: Brian Tench. On arrival we met up with Peter, Chris & Brian, & all the gear was set up over the next couple of hours, & then Brian worked on drum sounds for Charlie. Photographer Denis O'Regan was here shooting some video & taking photos throughout the session. We had a light lunch in the studio at 12:30pm, then got down to recording the first instrumental track. We got our Master by about 4:00pm, then worked on a riff of Peter's, that I added a middle section & an ending to. We continued with that, & finally got a Master by about 7:00pm. We broke for dinner upstairs & then chatted, then Terry, Charlie & I left for home, while Peter & Chris stayed back to do a few o/dubs on both tracks

Oh I see. Thank's for the heads up on that. Let's hope so he can work with The Stones.

After 40 plus years in the biz it's
unlikely the Stones would have something
newsworthy to say or do every week.

what about the tour starting in March 2004 that you were 100% certain of happening?

The "only" news of recent date, was posted and is still at ROLLINGSTONES.COM, (NEWS, Article, quoting Mr. WAS) concerning the making of the album. Of course, y'all don't want to believe the Official site, but rather other rumors from, an "unknown source."

I think the album is basically finished. Why? Because here it is late Febuary and spring is right around the corner yet The Rolling Stones seem in no hurry whatso-ever of getting together in the studio.

This only presses me on my recent suspicions. The album is for the most part done.

They recorded all through the Licks tour. They got together after breifly. Ronny was in and out. I think with his over-dubs laid in place the album will be ready for the final mix-down. Ronnies over-dubs could take just a few days to a week at most.

Don't get me wrong. I have no idea what they have got finished thus far or who needs to lay down what. I am just going by what has been stated thus far.

Either way I am pretty sure the album is for the most part is a wrap at this point based on the info given so far and their passiveness to the studio now that spring is coming.

They seem in no interest about getting together what-so-ever.
With 2005 already here and spring right around the corner I have a good opinion why. Because the album is basically in place.

Again this is all a huge "hypothesis". An educated guess based on the information at at hand. Which is still all in all a guess and very much my opinion.

I was thinking the child should be named either Ron Wood Rockman or Mick Taylor Rockman... What does everyone think?

Ian is probably right. Jagger even mentioned last September that he had been with Keith a lot so they definately did stuff before the November sessions also.

I know "many of you" will not believe this, (as it has been said and reported, many times by Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie).

The STONES have told us, in various interviews: "they each have their own parts designated to them, to work on for an album. Keith, (usually it's Keith who makes these calls) and sometimes Mick, will call Charlie and Ronnie, and tell them to work on certain things). They get together a few times to work on what they all have done, and then, they meet again to lay down the tracks. Later, there may be some kinks to work out, they meet again, they mix, and then the album is released." In addition to the music, Mick and Charlie usually work up the Album design, with input from both Ronnie and Keith in this area.

The Stones also have said, "they worked on and discussed various ideas about this new and forthcoming album, while still on the Licks tour."

The Stones have told us all this in interviews! The above has been their way of working on an album for some time now, it hasn't changed.

The only difference it appears, is the news releases on the subject of the new album: Don Was and Michael Cohl have reported that the "same closeness" that Keith and Mick had in the 60's, has returned in the making of the present album, (they have spent more time together, writing new material, etc).

That's all Folks!

I know Don Was said that about the new album. But when, and exactly what did Michael Cohl say in reference to the new album? I didn't know he said anything.
Can someone please fill me in?

Demon: If they do it like that I would think that it's impossible to make an album in the style of OOOH. To do that, you need to be in the same room.

I'm just repeating various articles that I've read and what the Stones have said in regards to their habits of making an album. You make up their schedule, you apparently know more then the Stones themselves.

It is common here on this board, to disregard the "facts and hints and what the Stones themselves" have said.

I was just pointing out what has been reported.

According to one person here, some of yas should all be following the Stones on this Tour that was suppose to have started last March 2004. So I guess that y'all are on that, "invisible tour." Btw, how is it? I have never been on an invisable tour before????? Must be cheap to follow, except for the gas, food and lodging money you expend winking smiley
