Acoustic segment

During one of Led Zep's tours in the 70's, they did an acoustic set of several songs. I think this would be a great idea (possibly b-stage) for the Stones. Whadda you think?

I really liked the kind of shows they did in Amsterdam's Paradiso and wouldn't mind hearing some more acoutic songs. I would really enjoy an acoustic set with just Mick and Keith sitting on stools and performing some tunes.

That's what I'm saying! It could/would be great!

Isn't this like what they did during the Voodoo Lounge Tour?

Not really. At least not at the shows I went to.

They only really did it once in the US in 94 (Miami PPV).
The "acoustic set" of 2-3 songs was more common in Japan and Europe in 95.

I think almost all fans would welcome this. Keith often talks about his love of the acoustic guitar, but you rarely see him perform with it. I really thought after the little experiment in 94/95 that it would become a staple of the act...but they settled on the b-stage concept as the "changeup" instead, apparently. And, I really woulda bet my bottom dollar we would have seen some acoustics numbers at the Licks theater gigs - if not there, then where?!

It seems they either have no confidence to "get intimate" or just aren't interested in presenting those kind of numbers - perhaps Mick is worried that it would drive a high-energy show down. Dunno. He's wrong, if that's his rationale.
Like I said, I think it would be a highlight of any show for any fan.

Listening to those Prodigal Son/You Gotta Move segments in '69 - the fans were into that then...seems a no-brainer they'd be into now.

At least do something like Respectable or Symapthy
Hell, even Jumpin Jack Flash
you know not the same acoustic Wild Horses or Angie

I think it would be lost in the
large stadium shows, but especially
nice in a small club/ theatre setting.

Some that I think would be different and good are:

Mother's Little Helper
Dear Doctor
Till The Next Goodbye (Great closer)
Already Over Me

even some electric numbers changed to acoustic like:

Winter
Out Of Time

Many others - Any suggestions?

great opportunity to drag out the often discussed but never performed Back Street Girl...wouldn't that be sweet?

I have always wanted to hear the Stones play Mother's Little Helper live, its not an obscure song it was actually a hit and sounds simple enough for them to play.

Maybe a set featuring songs like these, alternating them each show...

Mother's Little Helper
Sweet Black Angel
Backstreet Girl
Family
Blinded By Rainbows (acoustic version)
As Tears Go By
Country Honk
Sweethearts Together
Play With Fire

Yeah, Country Honk would be a nice change for we hardcore regulars and still keep the first timers happy.
