I saw him in '76 also on Wings Over America tour, he put on a tremendous show. I wonder if he'll sing "When I'm 64" when he turns 64.

I loved him during halftime. He was amazing. He really puts on a great show, Back in the U.S. is awesome. I really like the guys he plays with, but I wouldn't go as far as saying he has the best drummer, Charlie's the best alive, and second only to Keith Moon otherwise. I love the Beatles, but of course they are no Stones. KeithRichards mentioned another great band the Who, I might of misunderstood, but it sounded like he was saying that Zack Starkey and Pino Palladino were a big cause for them still sounding great, and although I agree they are both good musicians they are not in the same league as the two men they replaced, Pete and Roger still sound great. Both MacCartney and the Who are amazing live, but no one will ever touch the Stones.

Raise your glass to the good and the evil, Let's drink to the salt of the earth.

Pino Palladino was terrible with the Who.
Starkey is a really good drummer but Moon's shoes are just too big to fill as for ever being as good as.

Back to Palladino - when I saw the Who (and they kicked butt btw) he played really bad bass lines with no oomph at all.
I think he's a really poor replacement.
I know Townsend used him on White City. For solo gear Palladino is fine - but as for playing bass to Who songs - the guy's a dud.

As for Paul - I saw him in 93 and it was an absolute ball tearer of a show.
The man is brilliant.
A bit goofy and too much of the "did you enjoy the show" type guff, but in general he's tickatiboo.

He ain't the Beatles but he's still a great solo artist.

Have you ever lent somebody $20 and never seen them again? It was probably worth it.

Macca rarily varies his set, night from night,
be it the tunes, the arrangements, or his pithy
coments. Much as I love the Beatles, together or solo,
they rarily seem to have been a great live act, tho there
are rumours that they might once have been so back in the early
club days. This too could be open to debate tho, I was once talking
to a fan who use to see them do the Liverpool circuit, and said
that of the many live Merseybeat groups, they were far from the
best live on stage, but always stood out because of their personal
charisma and the fact they wrote their own songs. The Stones have
good night bad nights but they aren't afraid to push the envelope
and make show more. I think, with time anyway, they have become the
far superior live act.

hi,
i was at the super bowl and saw sir paul.. it was a great show but i think some of the newer acts out did paul.. buy the time he was on the croud was very, very excited.. he seemed a little flat..
by the way the fans around paul were the same for all the acts.. at half time they brought in the extras to play as fans.. after the charlie daniels band, etc ended they moved the fans down to the other end of the feild and acted like they were screaming fans.. it was great and i loved seeing paul... great time..
i think there would have been a riot if the stones played..ha! too many eagle fans from philly..philly loves the stones!

Ah yes! And look at the guy behind him in the cover art of "Sgt. Pepper's"!
