Yes, that is very important. Also get one with a full keyboard (88 keys).
We used to have a Williams Encore, which was very affordable and playable.

I wasn't serious ryanpow. I have an acoustic so I don't really need a digital piano, but I'd really love to have one of those hybrids...

It's my birthday tomorrow (yay for me - big 45!) and I've been thinking for a while about getting portable keyboards to have a bash at learning how to play some honky tonk/boogie woogie style piano at home....
Does anyone have any recommendations of machines I could try out that won't totally destroy my bank account?
I know a little bit about guitar but zero about pianos!
