And that's why I suppose, now in our modern urbane society we get axxholes like Greenday calling themselves Punk.

Why do you say that? Butter is the real thing. However, if he had been advertising margarine....
He's a sell out for advertising anything not musically related. He's no more rock and roll than the Queen.
We have people on here everyday who call "Some Girls" (or parts of it) Punk. Saw Wyman referred to as a "punk bassist" yesterday. As much as I'd love to hear The Stones play some punk (or maybe not, I like both but maybe not together, I'd be open), nothing on that album or in their career fits the bill. Just because Jagger mustered up a little fake punk attitude and swagger and cupped Ronnie's balls on stage a few times doesn't make it punk music. Nor does it need to be.

Great comments from Johnny, he's spot on in my opinion. I love his interviews from the double decker bus on the last Pistols DVD "There will always be an England" Didn't he shout at the people wlaking on a sidewalk "hello poor people" he's too much, ha-ha. But when it comes to being serious I think he makes a lot of sense.
