The sardonic humor of John Entwistle comes to the fore in this excerpt from the 1975 song video Success Story [shown here as seen in the Who movie The Kids Are Alright]. In the video, there is a scene where Entwistle takes gold records from out of his house onto the grounds of his estate for a round of skeet shooting. Entwistle later boasted that they were actually gold records that were awarded to Roger Daltrey for his solo albums. Daltrey laughed when he was finally informed of this fact in an interview--in 2004. Entwistle recounted how when he notified the local constable that he would be firing a machine gun on his property that the constable was not in the least bit concerned.
It's no longer on youtube but a few years ago there was a late '80s-vintage home video of some pudgy guy with a mullet lip-syching to "Let's Work" outdoors overlooking some mountains.
He appeared to be completely serious. I've never laughed harder in my life.
That said, Mick's original video is a close second.
