The one for Crackerbox Palace has those Pythonesque elements as well. Filmed at Friar Park, it's something of a "home movie". Directed by Eric Idle, that's Neil Innes at the beginning pushing the pram.

Check out George at 1:06, picking his nose in that "ACDC" outfit.

I wonder how much that booger goes for these days ?

Is that George's widow on the left at 2:29 ?

It does look like Olivia. Is that Clapton at 2:50?

Yes, that's definitely Olivia at 2:29. At 2:50, at first glance it does resemble Eric, but you know, on closer inspection it resembles more closely the lanky face and form of Pete Townshend, who was also friends with George around this time.

Not a music video as such, but William Shatner performing Rocket Man at an awards ceremony is interesting...... I can't post the clip on here, but it,s on YouTube.

Otherwise 'Hold On by Wilson Phillips.

I know this isn't a proper "music video", but it's a video, of people playing music, that is so bizarre it's funny. I'm sure it's been posted here before, as it's a cover of "When The Whip Comes Down", and is so goofy that it has to have been viral around here at some point.

Nothing like a couple of hillbillys doing a Stones cover in front of the Confederate flag. The fact that it's out of sync only makes it "better".

November Rain by Guns 'N Roses: They were in pure Spinal Tap mode.

Let's Work by Mick a close second.

Back up act for New Riders of the Purple Sage.

Guy who looked like Frank Zappa crammed mimself into a kids boy scout outfit at the mike. An aucoustic guitar Player dressed in the garb of the alps, knee socks, leather shorts, puffy white (Sienfeld) shirt and hat. But a normal looking guy on base that I noticed had to discuss his part just prior to playing, was an obvious last minute fill in. It started bad enough but turned ugly when the singer unzipped his pants and fed a bannana out the zipper, peeled it an started throwing it at the croud. The croud retalliated by throwing what ever they had back, unfortunatly for us I was in the front and the crowd was throwing their burgers, fries and soft drinks, very messy for many folks. The base player finaly realized he had signed up for a gong show and walked off while the singer tried to hold his ground but had to relent to the onslot of food.

NRPS rocked with fireworks going off over their heads, then it was off for a shower.

LOL. Very true. I was a Guns fan but they were ridiculously self-indulgent at that point.

Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age, but I think it's a bit unfair/overly harsh that one bad video ended Billy Squier's career. So the guy dressed in pastel colors and danced awkwardly - that describes 90% of MTV videos in those days!

The Who are not known for their comedy potential, but in the early days they seemed to have the chops. I read somewhere that The Who were slated to star in a Monkees-type TV series, but this never happened. Word has it that the video for their Happy Jack single, where they play would-be safe robbers who get distracted by the discovery of a cake lying around on someone's desk, was a clip that was to appear in the pilot episode of this rumored TV series. In this video, rock's premiere equipment smashers demolish a cake in an old-fashioned silent-film style pie fight.

LOL, that's David Cross, Bob Odenkirk and John Ennis from "Mr. Show With Bob & David", my favorite TV show of all time. If you haven't seen it, it's a sketch show and most of the sketches are pretty similar humor to that video.

In fact that video reminds me of a sketch from the show that's a training video for a pizza chain run by Marilyn Monster (a generic Marilyn Manson parody).
