Four Flicks--A Family Affair

Tonight, the girls and I are watching the Twickenham show. I asked my 8-year old daughter who her favorite was. Her answer: "I don't know. ALL of them". Correct answer, my sweet little rock n' roller.

that is so sweet!
you know how to educate your kids, bassplayer!
these youngsters need to be taught...just like we were.
from one generation to the next.

You've taught them well, Bassplayer!

Well, I don't know; my parents really hated the kind of music I liked, including the Stones (not Beatles or Elvis, though..). Good reason to like Mick & co moresmiling smiley Well, nowadays most of the people who like the sort of music Stones represent, don't appreciate very much the music the (or their) kids are now listening to, right?

So, I am a bit skeptical about the musical education.. when I was a young kid, punk movement was the latest thing. At the same time we were singing Beatles songs from our textbooks in the school (well, I also learned from that source that there was another British band in the 60's that was a kind of counter phenomenon to the Beatles and very much influenced by black blues music... that sounded much more interesting and exciting than the respected, accepted but dull-boring FabFour.)

If kids are exposed to it when young they may very well grow up and
assert themself with their own quite different music, but this will
be a part of their roots that they will return to, will ultimately
influence their tastes, help keep the rock alive. I'd say
go for it!

Well, when I mention "the girls", I must remind you that when Exile on Main St was released, I was 15 and my future wife was 1. There's a generation gap between my spouse and I, too.

I tried that once, great sex, but
everything else seemed off. Still,
it sounds like you've made it work!

Well, davido, we recently celebrated our tenth anniversary, so I hope you're right LOL. When we got married, I was 37, she was 23. My daughter arrived two years later.

You have to let them like the pap first then they will jump on quality music when it hits them.
