Honestly, I never cared for Mick Taylor. He is not part of the band. I actually think his style is not that great and I would prefer a 2012 Rambler rendition without him.

It doesn't look very good.The Stones could have made it happen but apparently they are afraid he will show them up. Springsteen Blige Gaga. It makes me sick to my stomach. $3750 for two pit tickets in Newark. I wish I could have gone to London instead! By the way, I heard the audience boot of Gimme Shelter with Blige. What a screeching mess!

Plus the Newark shows have been cheapened by the Brooklyn show which didn't get very glowing reviews by the iorr crowd and the Hurricane Sandy Benefit which most likely will have them just going through the motions Thursday after playing 3 times in 6 days.

MR at Barclays was great even without Taylor but I sure wish he had played. Don't think it has anything to do with "showing them" up though.Who are the announced guests for the first Newark, NJ show?

You nailed it, bubba. The Stones are so insecure that they're afraid that a 275 lb guy charging around the stage like a drunken rhino playing all over the music will show them up.

I've gotta say, all the psychological "analysis" around here the last few weeks has been truly intriguing.

I think the intrigue and behind-the-scenes buildup to these shows would make a fascinating book, "The Taylor Problem" being just one chapter. He's in the Brooklyn show, he's out of the Brooklyn show, he's in the PPV, he's out of the PPV. Jagger: "I'm sorry Mick but you're just not as photogenic as Lady Gaga." "You agreed to lose 80 lbs." "You showed us up". (Kidding) After "Rambler" at the 2nd O2 show, Mick said "I loved it" and was beaming. Maybe we'll never know the real reason he was left out. Maybe he did eat the Shepherd's Pie. At least we have this site to post our postulations.

No I have seen them 40 sometimes since 1975. As I understand it, these shows were supposed to be a 50th Anniversary celebration. Why should Wyman and Taylor play in London and not the US? What we are getting now I guess is the Vegas Stones with these ridiculous special guests.

This is the crux of the matter. Are the Stones really celebrating 50 years of their legacy, or just using the 50th anniversary for one last big money grab? For God's sake Taylor and Wyman were 40% of the members who made what is arguably their best music (or much of their best music), and instead of Mick Taylor we get Gary Clarke Jr. Of course, I must have missed Lady Ga Ga's well-known contributions to records like Sticky Fingers and Exile On Main Street. I'll have to check the credits again.

Wyman got a token two songs in London and Taylor one. Then they disappeared completely. They deserve better. So do we.
