Announcement tomorrow? (Likely minor...)
Posted by: SomeTorontoGirl ()

I received a tip from a Long Time Lurker … CBC Radio program “Q” ended today with a mysterious comment. The host, Tom Power, interviewed Mick about Hackney Diamonds when released and, at the end of today’s show, said that there would be some sort of announcement related to that during tomorrow’s show.

Album giveaway? Possible Toronto show? Talk amongst yourselves. I’ll likely forget to listen tomorrow so if anyone catches it, please share!

You can listen, the comment comes around the 52:30 mark.

Tomorrow’s show?

It’s a daily radio show. So…tomorrow’s show.

Well...a Toronto show would likely be considerably more than 'minor'!

I would agree, but have been told that Torontonians are seen as self-important in TROC [the rest of Canada…) grinning smiley

You've been told that? Or do you understand that innately, to your core?!

In TROC we refer to it as the center of the universe spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

You got rats on the west side (Mississauga), bedbugs uptown (Bloor Street), what a mess, this towns in tatters (Queen East & Jarvis), my brains been battered (University of Toronto), splattered all over, The Beaches!

To live in this town, you must be tough tough tough tough tough tough tough!

I’m glad I included ‘likely minor’ in the thread title.

Radio host Tom Power is a good interviewer, and his interview with Mick when Hackney Diamonds was released has won a gold medal at an awards thingy in New York.

Long Time Lurker shall be punished with inferior beer.

As a consolation, you can hear an abbreviated version of the interview here and, if inclined, am sure you can find the entire episode in the Q vaults with a search.

I didn't know they gave medals for interviews.

At least the Beatles Red and Blue album tale won the Grand Trophy.

I'm sure we're all breathing a collective sigh of relief!

Love Toronto here (other than traffic on the 401). Diverse, great dining, friendly people, lots of music venues....and maybe I'm wrong but I always feel safe/unthreatened walking around at any time of night.Heading there for a show in less than 2 weeks.

Love the "big smoke". Took my family on a Christmas shopping weekend there a couple of years ago. Fab.
