I heard it today on an oldies station that normally doesn't play any Stones track newer than Start Me Up. I'm sure it was just a one-time thing, though, for all the reasons you mention.

My thoughts exactly.
Irrelevant medium for them to be concerned about (which I doubt they are).
But judging by the decisions they have been making of late, they are probably all geared up for a radio blitz that, essentially, no one will hear or pay attention to.

It used to be Record companies did everything they could to get the DJs to like em... I wonder how much efforts, funds, time and effort is dedicated towrds radio stations these days..... actually since the dropping of ownerships rules, and 3 companies buying up most every station in the States... it probably takes 3 calls.... but I am not sure. I know I stopped listening to the radio hoping my DJ will play my favorite song late at night... like in the good ole days... we'd callem and make requests...and then wait... wait and wait ...and then... "Jeremiah was a bullfrog..."

As someone who has worked in radio for the last 7 years... it will show up on some Classic Rock and Classic Hits stations for the next week. Two weeks from now, it will never be heard of again. It might 'chart' but it won't result in any more airplay.
I could go into all of the reasons why, but watch and tell me if I am right in two weeks time.
